The setting is the same. Nominees anxiously await the opening of the envelope amongst their peers and applause erupts once a winner has been announced. Complete with on-stage performances and a Tony Awards- style ceremony, to the high schools that participate in TUTS’ annual Tommy Tune Awards, the experience is nothing short of an Oscar-esque evening where schools compete in categories ranging from Best Musical to Best Supporting Actor.
