Real-World Performance Experience for Aspiring Artists
Through TUTS Education, students under the age of 18 have the unique opportunity to join the ensemble casts of Theatre Under The Stars Mainstage productions. This program is designed as an experiential learning opportunity, giving students a chance to perform in professional productions while gaining invaluable training and stage experience.
Auditions
- When: Auditions typically take place each summer for the following season.
- Who Can Audition: Students currently enrolled in The Humphreys School of Musical Theatre or The River.
- What to Expect:
- Auditions are open calls for available ensemble tracks in select Mainstage shows.
- Occasionally, named roles (non-ensemble) may also be available.
How to Stay Informed: Audition notices are sent directly to households of students enrolled in HSMT and The River.

Are parents required to volunteer or assist?
Parents are not required to volunteer while students are in mainstage productions, but must be available to assist with any behavior or general concerns as they arise.
Do I need prior experience to audition?
No. Any student enrolled in our programs may audition, but participation in The Academy provides a deeper level of training for students who are considering a career in acting.
