Please contact Guest Services directly to request accessible seating or to discuss your specific needs.

Service Animals

Service animals are welcome at all TUTS performances. Please inform Guest Services when purchasing tickets so we can ensure seating that accommodates your service animal.

“Service animal” is defined by the ADA as a dog that is individually trained to do work or perform tasks for a person with a disability. Emotional support animals are not recognized as service animals under the ADA.

Assistive Listening Devices

Complimentary assistive listening devices, including units compatible with t-coil-enabled hearing aids, are available at the Accessibility Kiosks located in the Orchestra and Mezzanine lobbies.

Accessible & Family Restrooms

Accessible restrooms are located on each level of Sarofim Hall. Family restrooms are available on the Orchestra and Mezzanine levels.

ASL, Open Captioning, and Audio Described Performances

TUTS offers scheduled performances for each production that include American Sign Language interpretation (ASL), open captioning, and audio description.

Open Captioning

During these events an experienced captioner scrolls up to three lines of text onto an LED sign in sync with the performance. Caption boards are located on the left side of the audience chamber and are best viewed from every level when seated in the left sections of the chamber.

American Sign Language Interpreted Performances

Tickets for these performances must be purchased at least two weeks in advance of the performance date

Audio Described Performances

Using a headset connected to an infrared receiver, patrons who are blind or have low vision can listen to trained audio describers give live, verbal descriptions of actions, costumes, scenery and other visual elements of a performance. Guests who wish to listen to audio description must pick up a headset from an accessibility kiosk. Headsets are distributed free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis. Accessibility kiosks are located at: Grand Lobby (level 3) and Mezzanine (level 4)
