Equity & General Auditions FAQ

Do I have to be in the union to audition?
Equity and non-Equity performers are welcome. Only Equity members can sign up for auditions in advance; non-Equity performers may sign in day-of on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note: we may not be able to see all non-Equity actors due to time constraints.
Do you hold auditions in NYC?
No. We only hold callbacks in NYC for select shows and by appointment.
If I don’t live in Houston, can I audition there?
Yes. Houston calls are open to all Equity members. Non-Equity performers must be Houston locals or have local housing.
Do you accept video auditions?

Yes. Virtual Auditions can be submitted here (closes July 27, 2027).

What if I can’t make auditions?
We hold regular auditions throughout the year. Please check this page for updates.
How much will I make?
Equity performers are paid WCLO rates. Non-Equity salaries are negotiated individually.
Do I have to sing?
Yes — all musicals require strong singing ability.
Should I attend both singer and dancer auditions?
Attend the call that best showcases your strengths. Strong dancers may be asked to sing, and strong singers may be asked to dance.
Can I audition for a specific role?
Yes, but casting is based on the creative team’s vision for the production.
