Denzel Taylor is an award-winning choreographer, educator, and arts leader dedicated to cultivating the next generation of performing artists. A graduate of The Ailey School and the Dance Theatre of Harlem School, he has performed professionally with Ballet INC. and Visions Contemporary Ballet Theatre, bringing a wealth of concert and commercial dance experience to his work as both an artist and educator.

As a choreographer, Denzel has created original works for The Ailey School, Harlem School of the Arts, and Dance Lab New York (formerly Broadway Dance Lab), where he became one of the youngest choreographers invited to set original work. He recently choreographed Hadestown: Teen Edition for Theatre Under The Stars and currently serves as one of the resident choreographers for the Anderson Center for the Arts.

A 10-time Tommy Tune Award nominee for Best Choreographer and three-time Tommy Tune Award winner, Denzel is recognized for creating dynamic, story-driven work while mentoring young artists with excellence, discipline, and creativity. His teaching philosophy emphasizes strong technical training, artistic curiosity, and authentic storytelling, empowering students to discover their unique voices both on and off the stage.

Denzel is honored to join the faculty at Theatre Under The Stars and looks forward to inspiring, challenging, and supporting the next generation of artists as they continue their creative journeys.
