Maya Rajaji is a fourth-year BM student in Music Education at the University of Houston’s Moores School of Music. At UH, she directs a student led mixed pop/musical theatre ensemble and will continue to direct the group until graduation. Maya has participated in many choirs and musicals before college and currently sings in multiple vocal ensembles now. After graduation she hopes to pursue a career teaching choir, giving voice lessons, and music directing/ conducting musicals and opera choruses.
As a vocalist, Maya currently studies under the direction of Grammy award winner Daniel Belcher. She sings in the internationally acclaimed University of Houston’s Concert Chorale and been featured on multiple choral recordings with the Moores School of Music as well as the Houston Masterworks Chorus. Maya is currently a staff singer with Webster Presbyterian Church in Webster, a Teaching Artist with Theatre Under The Stars, and enjoys singing in other extracurricular groups as well.
When she isn’t singing or teaching, Maya is often found out with her friends and family trying new restaurants or exploring new places in Houston!
